There is a lot of support available in the community for patients and their care partners. The following organizations provide educational materials, host meetings and seminars, and connect members of the community who share similar experiences.
The American Cancer Society offers information, day-to-day help, and emotional support to cancer patients as well as their family and friends. They offer programs, services, and resources that can help you on your journey, including help with lodging and transportation.
HealthTree for Multiple Myeloma is a nonprofit organization uniting patients and researchers through cutting-edge technology to work together on curing myeloma. HealthTree provides personalized support and education to patients.
The International Myeloma Foundation provides information online and by phone. They offer patient and caregiver education materials, and conduct patient and family seminars and regional community workshops.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society offers information specialists, peer-to-peer support, financial guidance and support, and online chats for both patients and caregivers.
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation offers patient and caregiver education programs and provides one-on-one support, including assistance with finding a treatment center, clinical trials, support groups, and financial assistance programs.
MyMyelomaTeam is a social network where those living with myeloma can seek support, advice, and insights on managing treatments and therapies for myeloma.
Patient Empowerment Network (PEN) equips patients and caregivers with the tools and resources needed to understand their cancer diagnosis and take an active role in their treatment journey.
